Unlocking Potential: Free Academic Afterschool Program In Wilmington, DE Empowers Young Minds

Wilmington, DE – Delaware Family Restoration Services and United Way of Delaware have partnered to offer a free academic afterschool program for elementary school children in Wilmington, DE. The program offers an adaptive curriculum, virtual and in-person tutors, games, and snacks to provide additional academic support for kids in the area.

The program’s main focus is on homework help, math, and strengthening reading skills. The program’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at 31 W. 31st, Wilmington, DE (One Village Alliance building). The program’s goal is to offer additional academic support for kids in Wilmington, DE, to help them achieve their full potential and succeed academically.

“We understand that many families in Wilmington face significant challenges when it comes to providing their children with the academic support they need,” said Ahmarr Melton, Program Coordinator. “We want to do our part in helping these kids succeed, by providing them with the resources they need to excel in school.”

The program provides a safe, nurturing environment for children to learn and grow, with experienced and compassionate staff on hand to provide support and guidance. In addition to academic support, the program also offers games and snacks to keep kids engaged and motivated.

Parents who have enrolled their children in the program have seen significant improvements in their children’s school performance. “My son was struggling with reading, but since joining the afterschool program, he’s been making steady progress,” said a parent of one of the program’s participants. “I’m grateful for this program and the positive impact it’s had on my son’s life.”

The program also offers volunteer opportunities for individuals who want to make a positive impact in their community. Volunteers can help with homework help, tutor children, play games with them, and more. No prior experience is necessary, and all volunteers will receive training and must pass a background check.

The program is open to all elementary school children in Wilmington, DE, and is completely free of charge.
